The Hotel Quinta Splendida Madeira is
modern, yet elegant, also rich in
antiquities and paintings, surrounded by a beautiful garden with subtropical
trees and hundreds of different kinds of flowers which tempt the guests to take
a walk and relax.
The Manor House was constructed in the 18th Century on
25.000sq grounds with a breathtaking view over the Atlantic. It is said to have
been the property of the Jesuits. Above the doors Bishop’s hats were painted,
and one side of the house - still visible today - was decorated with a star
hence the old name “Quinta Estrela”. The property was bought in 1988 and in 1993
the Swiss owner began the construction of this exquisite holiday
resort.
Quinta Splendida was awarded with the “Estrelícia Dourada” by the
Regional Government of Madeira, and with the “Holly” for 5 years including
2001.
